自分たちでスペシャル旅を企画しよう！

こんにちは！曽雌です。

今月のワンダークラスの活動では、２月に実施するオリジナル旅の企画を行いました。

行先、行き方、スケジュールまで、全て自分たちで考えて企画をしていきます。そして、今回はチームごとに旅を企画していくので、全てのチームが別々の場所へ旅をすることになります。

自分たちで考えれば、何でも作れる。でも、その分、すべてを自分たちで考えないといけない。自由にできる分、考えることの大変さも同時に感じられるわけです。

そして11月に実施した屋台経営キャンプでの利益も今回の旅の資金にすることが可能です。ワンダークラスの子どもたちにとっては、1年間の集大成とも言えるかもしれません。

教室についた瞬間から

「どこに行きたい？」

と子ども同士で話し始めています。

ワクワクが伝わってきますね～

「京都に行きたい！」

「温泉に入りたい！」

「犬山に行きたい！」

みんな自分の行きたい！やりたい！をどんどん出していきます。

さあ、難しいのがここから1つに絞っていくことです。

それぞれがやりたいことを挙げていったはいいものの、どうやって決めていけばいいのかが分からない。

そんな中、

「決まらない～！！！」

「う～ん、多数決では決めたくないからなあ」

「それぞれで行きたい場所をプレゼンしよ！」

こんな言葉が子どもたちから出てきていました。

「多数決では決めたくない」

子どもたちのそんな言葉を聞いて、本当に感心しました。

きっと自然と一人ひとりの考えを大事にしようとする気持ちが生まれてきているんでしょうね。自分の考えも大事にしたい、相手の考えも大事にしたい。そんな風に人を大事にしようとしている子どもたちの姿勢に、なんだか成長を感じてしまいますね。

そんな子どもたちの姿を見ていてふと昔を思い出しました。

今から7～8年ほど前になるでしょうか。「大人に楽しませてもらう形ではなくて、もっと子どもたちが自分たちで考えるような教育を創りたい」そんな思いから、ドンマイプロジェクトとという教室を創りました。

自分の力で考えて、自分の力で挑戦したことは、たとえどれだけ周りから小さなことだと思われたとしても、大きな価値がある。その積み重ねが、自分で自分の人生を創り上げていく力に変わるんだ！だから、子どもたちが失敗も成功も全部自分たちの物だと感じられるような教育を創ろう、そんな思いから始まった教室でした。

企画をしている中で、ある子が聞いてきました。

「りょうた先生！タクシー会社に追加料金が無いか聞いてみたいんだけど！」

「いいよ。じゃあ、自分で聞いてみなよ。電話をかけてあげるから。最初から掛ける？それとも最初の繋ぎまでやろうか？」

「え？じゃあ、最初だけお願い」

そんな話の流れで、その子は自分でタクシー会社に電話をして、料金の仕組みについて聞いていました。

少しして、別のグループからも。

「りょうた先生、高速バスの予約をしたいんだけど、連絡してもいい？」

「勿論、いいよ。最初から自分で話す？」

「え、、、うん。やってみたい！最初、何を言えばいいかな？」

そんな風に最初のイメージだけ一緒に考えた後、自分で電話をかけていました。

「今、小学生で、自分たちで旅の企画をしていて、バスの予約をしたいんですけど」

「料金はいくらになりますか？ええっと、子どもが6人で、大人が2人です。あ、中学生は大人料金になりますか？」

「ちょっと待ってください。あ、もう一度お願いします。7755ですね。分かりました。」

「分かりました。ありがとうございます」

こんな会話をしているんです。小学生が、、、(笑)

電話を切ったあと、緊張した表情から少しふっと息をはいた表情がなんとも輝いていました。大きなチャレンジを終えた表情です。

小学生で高速バスの予約を自分でとる体験って、どれだけの人ができるんでしょうね？(笑)

勿論、全てが順調に進まず、なかなか決まらずに葛藤しながらの企画です。でも、それが面白いんですよね。決まったことを考えるのではなく、自分たちで考えるからこそ面白い。

最後は、時間ギリギリになりながらも、どのチームも企画ができた？のかな。

行きと帰りだけ考えて、何をするのかは行ってから考えよう！なんて言っているチームもありましたが(笑)

それもまた旅の醍醐味かもしれませんね。
