今日は、歴史サイクリング小牧城〜清洲城の往復28kmの活動でした！
歴史サイクリングは今回で２回目。前回は、岩崎城から小牧山城までの28km。
今回は、そのゴール地点の小牧山城から清洲城までの14kmの往復旅。
自転車好きと歴史好きの子たちに人気なこのプログラム。
前回は、プログラム終了時間ギリギリになりながらゴールを目指し、ひたすらペダルを漕ぎ続けました。
常に、時間との勝負をしていたように感じます。(笑)
今回の歴史サイクリングは、どうだったのか。
僕や子どもたちだけしかしらない活動の内容をどうぞ(笑)
朝8:30。小牧山城に子どもたちが集合。朝来てすぐ自転車を漕いでいる子。少し眠そうな顔で待っている子。など、朝の眠さと自転車へのワクワクという両方の気持ちが見られた朝でした。
「さあ、今日は自転車の日だね！」
みんなで集まって話をすると少しずつ子どもたちの表情がより明るくなり、ワクワクしている
今日のルートを紹介したり、皆で自転車を漕ぐときに気をつけることを考えたり、アーサーのハンドサインを伝授したり出発の準備を整え、出発しました。
お母さん、お父さんに「いってらっしゃい！楽しんで！」と見送られて9:00ごろ小牧山城を出発しました。
「段差があるよ！」「止まるよ！」など声を掛け合い、進んでいきました。
スタートから順調に進み、予定よりも早い時間でポイントを通過していきました。
「好きな野球の選手は、1位〇〇選手で〜2位は〇〇で〜」と好きな野球選手の話しをしたり、
「あっ、このお店学校の近くにもあるよね！」「この辺、前皆で来たことあるような〜」など、楽しく会話をしながら進んでいきました。
「あれ、なんかいい匂いがするね！」「ほんとだ！どこだ〜？？」
「あっ、このうどん屋だ！」
自転車での良いところの１つは、その土地のことをダイレクトに感じられること。
その地域の風景、雰囲気や匂い、気温、など車に乗ってるだけでは見落としてしまっていることも自分の肌で感じることができます。
今日は、周りへの気づきが子どもたちの会話の中にたくさん出ていました。
「この川、コイがいるよ！」「美味しそうな匂いがする〜」「風が気持ち良いね！」「ここは道が整備されていて走りやすいね」
いろんな気づきがあり、自分たちの力で行くことの大事さを改めて感じました。
そんなこんなで11:30ごろに清洲城到着。
「清洲城見えた！」「到着〜！」
到着して、自転車を止めた直後、
「よし、鬼ごっこしようよ！」と聞こえ、
「えっ！？(笑)」と僕は思いましたが、元気が有り余っている様子！
しかしお腹の空いた子も多く、話し合いの末、先にご飯を食べてからみんなで遊ぶことになりました。
「早くご飯食べよ！」「長く遊べるよ！」
全く疲れを見せない子どもたち。
１0分ほどでご飯を食べ終わりすぐに鬼ごっこがスタートしました
30分ほど鬼ごっこをした後、清洲城の中へ向かいました。
清洲城の中の展示物や映像に釘つけになる子どもたち。
火縄銃を持ってみたり、天守閣からの名古屋駅や名古屋城、小牧山城を探したりなど清洲城の中もじっくり楽しんでいました。
清洲城の庭付近で子どもたちが集合。「子どもたち流清洲会議」がスタートしました(笑)

「1人2万人ぐらい倒さないと！」
「殿！指示をください！」みんなで様ざまな案を出し合う賑やかな会議が開かれていました！
歴史への関心もより高まっていたのかな？？
面白い時間でした。
時刻は14:00。
小牧山城へ帰ります。
鬼ごっこや遊びが少し体にきたのか、会話の数は息の道ほど多くはありませんでした。
それでもみんなで声を掛け合いながら小牧山城へと向かいました。
時間ギリギリになる！
「やばい！あと15分で16:00だ！」「がんばろ〜！」
「足が痛いよ〜」という言葉もこぼれていましたが、それでも前へ前へと進みました。
「あっ、小牧山城が見えたよ！」
ゴールが見えたことで少しスピードもアップ！
さあ、ラストスパート！
ゴール地点は、子どもたちの帰りを嬉しそうに待っている様子のお母様方。
お母さんたちが見えると、子どもたちはさらに元気が出ていました(笑)
そして、28kmの旅が終了！
「久しぶりに疲れた！」
「疲れたけど、楽しかった！」
と満足そうな表情の子ども達でした。
